One of the flagship components of the Dholera renewable energy initiative is the Dholera Solar Park (DSP). Covering more than 11,000 hectares (approximately 27,000 acres), the park is envisioned as one of the largest solar power generation hubs in the world. Its phased development model ensures that each stage contributes substantial capacity to the national power grid.

The solar park will include a state-of-the-art photovoltaic module manufacturing facility designed to meet high annual production targets for utility-scale power generation. Dholera’s expanding infrastructure supports end-to-end photovoltaic manufacturing, complemented by integrated energy storage solutions to ensure reliable and consistent electricity supply.
Dholera’s renewable energy strategy extends well beyond solar power, with substantial investments planned for wind energy development. The region’s coastal wind patterns provide consistent and reliable wind speeds, enabling wind turbines to deliver a stable electricity supply throughout the year.
Hybrid Systems with Photovoltaic Modules
Wind energy effectively complements Dholera’s photovoltaic infrastructure, creating integrated hybrid power systems that enhance grid stability and significantly reduce reliance on fossil fuels. Supported by strong transmission connectivity to Rajasthan and growing interest from global decarbonization leaders such as Microsoft and Google, Dholera’s wind energy initiatives are positioned to have international strategic importance.
Efficient renewable energy deployment depends on strong infrastructure and reliable grid connectivity. The Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR) has made significant investments in upgrading power transmission lines and substations to ensure seamless and efficient electricity distribution.
DSIR is also developing advanced transmission networks to integrate both solar and wind power into the national grid. These enhancements will enable Dholera to achieve energy self-sufficiency while supplying clean electricity to Ahmedabad, Rajasthan, and other regions across the country.
